Make This Disney-Inspired Halloween Charcuterie Board To Be the Most Popular at the Party!

The Ultimate Party Food – Charcuterie Boards!

While the idea of charcuterie boards has been around for centuries, they have blown up in the last 10 years or so. And why not? Charcuterie boards are basically the perfect finger food. Hear me out… First of all – finger food! Not having silverware to wash or waste makes me happy. Second, charcuterie boards are completely customizable. That means that there will be something for everyone, even the pickiest of people. Third, the one that I’m sharing today has Mickey-shaped items in it and that basically makes it better than all of the regular boards with boring shaped meats and cheeses. So there you have it, let’s get into the details of making a Disney-inspired Halloween Charcuterie Board!

Supplies for Charcuterie Board Success

Other than the obvious edible items, you will need two things to make a Disney-inspired charcuterie board. One is a vessel for your charcuterie, the other is Mickey-shaped cutters.

The wooden board that I used is actually a “charcuterie board”, but if you don’t have one, don’t worry. You can use any type of tray or wooden cutting board. If you don’t own anything that will work or you would really like a “charcuterie board”, I’ve got you covered! Amazon currently has one that is almost identical to the one that I used in the photo – it is a 1″ thick Bamboo Wood Board with juice grooves. It is less than $20 so if you plan on making charcuterie boards on occasion it really is a worthy purchase. I do not regret it! (As an Amazon Associate I earn a small commission on qualifying purchases at no additional cost to you!)

The Mickey-shaped cookie cutters are the same set that I’ve used in a lot of recipes on this blog. If you don’t already have a set (like why not , though?😁) you can get the 4 piece Mouse Shaped Cookie Cutter Set here! The set is under $6! Nothing is under six bucks these days and I have had endless fun with them. I can honestly say this has been one of the best “toy” purchases I’ve made as an adult! 😉

Disney-Inspired Halloween Charcuterie Board

This magical charcuterie board will make you the most popular person at the Halloween party! Filled with meats, cheeses, fruits, and sweets, it will bring a much needed Disney flair to the gathering.

Ingredients

  • assorted meats (I used honey ham and salami)
  • assorted cheeses (I used provolone slices, a block of sharp cheddar, and a block of white cheddar. The mouth on the vampire Mickey shape is American cheese)
  • assorted fruits and/or veggies (I used grapes, blackberries, and gherkins)
  • crunchy elements (I used several types of crackers but pretzels or crostini would work great)
  • sweet fillers (I used candy corn)

Equipment

  • 1 wooden charcuterie board (there is a link above if you need one 🙂
  • Mickey-shaped cookie cutters (the link for the 4-piece cookie cutter set is also above)

Method

Prepare the Mickey shapes
  1. First, take a few slices off of your cheese chunks and grab a few slices of salami and provolone (or anything that will hold a Mickey-shape). Cut them into Mickey shapes using the cookie cutters. Varied sizes look great! Set the Mickey shapes aside to use on top of the assembled charcuterie board.
  2. To make the Vampire Mickey-shaped cheese I used one of the larger cutters on a slice of provolone. Using a paring knife, I cut two triangular teeth out of the scrap and the mouth shape out of a slice of American cheese. Place the mouth and teeth onto the Mickey-shaped provolone and set aside.
Arrange the charcuterie board
  1. I start by placing a piece of aluminum foil on my charcuterie board right up the juice grooves. This is not necessary but it makes cleanup easier!
  2. Start by arranging the "crunchy" items (crackers and such.). Overlap them to fit more onto the tray and place them in several areas for balance.
  3. Cube the blocks of cheddar cheese and place in small piles throughout the tray.
  4. Place fruit (and/or veggies) throughout the cheese and crackers.
  5. Fold or roll up meat and arrange neatly in several areas. (I rolled up the ham then cut the roll into several pieces and stood them up on end. For the salami, I folded each slice in half 3 times.)
  6. Grab the Mickey-shaped items that you have set aside and scatter them on top of the charcuterie board.
  7. Using the candy corn, fill in any areas that appear empty.
