Indulgent S’mores Popcorn Bowl – Campsite, Fire, or Sticks Not Required!

Seasonal Deliciousness on Main Street

For a limited time only, the Main Street Confectionery on Main Street USA is offering a seasonal twist on their popcorn bowls. Think graham crackers, chocolate, marshmallows…. If you guessed s’mores, you would be correct! (If you did not guess s’mores, I mean, come on….). Allow me to show you how to make a delicious, right-from-the-campfire-tasting s’mores popcorn bowl right at home.

Tweaked Version to Honor the Beloved Classic Treat

Since I (unfortunately) won’t be getting down to Walt Disney World in the very near future, I thought I’d make my own version at home. The version currently at the Confectionery has M&Ms in it, and it also has caramel popcorn. I don’t associate M&Ms OR caramel with s’mores, so I changed mine just a bit. If you otherwise love M&Ms and caramel corn (such as myself), check out the Sweet & Salty Popcorn Bowl that I also made – recipe coming real soon! (I’ll link it up as soon as I post it.)

I Like Big Corn and I Cannot Lie (Popcorn, that is)

You can use any kind of popcorn really, I just personally can’t stand puny little popcorns! So, for both of the popcorn bowls that I created, I used PopSecret Jumbo Popping Corn. I kept looking in my local stores for something of a jumbo-nature but I just couldn’t find anything. I ended up ordering it from Amazon. If you desire giant popcorn but have the same luck as I did locating it in a store, here’s the Amazon link if you’d like to order it. (As an Amazon Associate, I may earn a small commission if you make a purchase – at no extra cost to you!)

Again, you can use whatever kind of popcorn that you like – you can even buy it pre-popped in a bag! I usually make mine in a good old fashioned air-popper. As a kid I remember my mom making it this way and sometimes the comfort of childhood is what life calls for. I also recall that we’d always drink Pepsi with our popcorn – apparently when I was young that was the cat’s pajamas for me LOL! If you’d like to give the air-popper a try, this is the one that I have, but like I said there are no rules for how you acquire or make your popcorn!

Disney-Inspired S’mores Popcorn Bowl

This indulgent Main Street-inspired S'mores Popcorn Bowl can be made right in your kitchen – no campfire required!
Course: Dessert, Snack

Ingredients

  • 8 cups popped popcorn 1/4 cup of unpopped Jumbo kernels is approximately 8 cups popped
  • salt salt the popped popcorn to your taste
  • 2 cups mini-marshmallows
  • 2 cups graham crackers, crushed
  • cups chocolate, melted I used Ghirardelli milk chocolate melting wafers

Method

  1. Pop the popcorn and salt to your taste.
  2. Put 1 cup of popped popcorn in each of 4 bowls. (Use bowls that will hold at least 3-4 cups so there will be room for all of the fixings)
  3. With a spoon, heavily drizzle several tablespoons of melted chocolate over the popcorn in each bowl. (Blobs are totally okay if they happen!)
  4. Sprinkle approximately 1/4 cup of the crushed graham crackers on top of the chocolate in each bowl.
  5. Distribute 1/4 c of mini-marshmallows on top of the grahams in each bowl.
  6. Repeat steps 1-4 to create a second layer of popcorn, chocolate drizzle, crushed graham crackers, and mini-marshmallows.
  7. OPTIONAL BUT ILL-ADVISED! (See the paragraph at the bottom of my blog post for explanation 🙂 If you are competent with a kitchen torch, you can lightly toast the top mini-marshmallows for some added campfire-taste. Toast at your own risk!
  8. Drizzle the remaining melted chocolate on top of the 4 bowls.
  9. Let the bowls rest for just a bit to give the chocolate a chance to set up, otherwise it will be super-messy when eating. Serve and enjoy during movie night or just because!

Optional – BUT ILL-ADVISED – Flaming Marshmallows!

Okay, listen here. This next part is absolutely NOT required, but in the name of drama and because I just remembered that I own a kitchen torch, I went all out and lightly toasted the marshmallows on top. It was magical. It was golden. There was also a moment of fear for my eyebrows and nose hairs and potentially my dignity. Let’s just say, I have not been invited to be a fire twirler in the Festival of the Lion King. I will, however, share the video on my TikTok so that you can appreciate the magnificence of it all.

BUT…If you do have a kitchen torch, and if you are a seasoned pro at using said kitchen torch, go ahead and gently toast the marshmallows on top for additional campfire flavor!
