Sweet & Salty Maple Popcorn is so easy to make at home!
Confession Time
I’m going to say something that may startle the most hardcore Epcot fans. Are you sitting? Okay here it goes…I start in Canada. I said what I said. The Seas is my first stop upon park opening, then the Land pavilion for some agricultural education followed by a meal at the Garden Grill. The next obvious stop is Canada. I need to get my maple popcorn ASAP. This will not be discussed further. π
Since I am unfortunately 1,030 miles from Epcot (I’m actually closer to actual Canada than the Canada pavilion in Epcot π) I decided to make some maple popcorn at home. Do I know the secret recipe for maple popcorn as it is made in Epcot? Nope, I have no idea how they make it. BUT – I’m going to share with you how I make it – and it is darn good. Addicting if you will. A glorious, maple, salty delight.

Popcorn Buckets
If you’ve ever been to the Disney parks I’m willing to bet you have 1 or two or 30 popcorn buckets sitting in a cupboard. But the question is, do you ever use them again? Leave me a comment! As you can see, I sure do! They are perfect to add some extra magic to a movie night at home!
Suggested (but not required) Items for this Recipe
As I mentioned in the recipe, you can make your popcorn any way you’d like. Personally, I love the air popper. The one I have is from Orville Redenbacher and I’ve had it for YEARS – but click here for the current equivalent of it if you are interested in one! (As an Amazon Associate I may earn a small commission for qualifying purchases.)
There is nothing worse than sad, puny popcorn. The one I used for this recipe is made by PopSecret and they are Jumbo kernels. Again, if you are interested in this giant, fluffy popcorn it can be found on Amazon by clicking here and probably at your local grocery store (I couldn’t find it at mine, though. π)
The maple syrup that I used is actually Kirkland brand from Costco. I giggle every time I see it because it reminds me of the jug that the one bear plays in the Country Bear Jamboree. π

If you don’t have popcorn buckets at home and are in need of some cute Disney-inspired popcorn vessels, they have some cute ones on Amazon that are great for kids (or grown up kids) made by Glad. Click here to check them out!

Sweet & Salty Maple Popcorn
Ingredients
Method
- Pop the popcorn – any way you choose! I use an air popper but you can certainly get some microwavable popcorn or buy it already popped. No matter how you do it, you'll need 12 cups of popped popcorn.
- While the popcorn is still warm, salt it to your taste.
- In a small saucepan on the stove, bring the maple syrup, brown sugar, butter, and salt to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 2 minutes, stirring frequently.
- Stir in the baking soda.
- Immediately drizzle the maple mixture over the popcorn and start stirring until it is evenly coated.
- Pour the popcorn onto a parchment lined baking sheet and bake at 250Β° for 20 minutes, stirring halfway through.
- Once it is removed from the oven, stir it one more time and let it cool off for a few minutes. ENJOY!!!! Warning: you won't be able to stop eating it!
Maple Scent Anytime
If you know me at all you know that I am a candle freak. One of my favorite brands is Goose Creek (no, they aren’t paying me to say this, but if they’d like to send me some candles….just sayin’… π). Goose Creek candles have scents that I can actually smell in different rooms of my house when I walk away from where the candle is burning. Also, the scent lingers well after the candle has been snuffed out. That alone is the reason that I love Goose Creek so much.
On top of that is the fact that the scents are so diverse and “real.” The one I’m going to suggest for you today is called MAPLE BUTTER. I kid you not, I haven’t even lit this candle yet, but I get hit with maple flavor every time I open he drawer that I keep it in. Here’s a link to the Maple Butter Candle on their website. There are also several other products in the Maple Butter scent (melts, warmer refills) if you aren’t into the giant 3-wick candles.
So if you love the smell that fills your kitchen when you are making this maple popcorn recipe, grab yourself a candle for the same smell without any work!
